Jewell: Stevenson Showing Right Attitude - Ipswich Town News
Blues boss Paul Jewell says he’s been impressed with the attitude shown by new signing Ryan Stevenson since he has been at the club. The £50,000 January addition from Hearts played his first game in a Town shirt as the reserves beat Leyton Orient 4-1 at Playford Road on Tuesday.
Jewell said: "He did OK. I think he was blowing a bit because it was his first game since December 17th.
"He’s a terrific lad, he’s got a great attitude, he knows he’s got to be patient, but I’ve been really impressed with his attitude. He’s delighted to be here and it’s good to see.”
The 27-year-old played the role between the main striker and the midfield for the reserves but Jewell says the former St Johnstone and Ayr man is very versatile: "He can play in a number of positions. We were having a look at him [in that role] and it was good for him to get 70 minutes under his belt.
"I think he’s getting an Ipswich tattoo, if there’s any room left on his body!” joked the Blues boss, adding, "He’s a terrific lad, he’s really determined to prove himself here.”
