The Portman Road pitch faces an 11.15am inspection after temperatures overnight dropped to as low as -13° in Ipswich.
The pitch has been covered for more than a week with the heated blowers also employed to help ensure that today's game against Middlesbrough goes ahead.
Meanwhile, the decision to call off the Peterborough-West Ham game means that if it goes ahead, Town's match will be shown live in various places overseas.
