Game ON! - Ipswich Town News
The Middlesbrough match looks set to go ahead with the pitch adjudged fit to play at the 11.15am pitch inspection. However, another inspection is taking place at 2pm to confirm.
Referee Dean Whitestone gave the go-ahead but some concerns remain about a section of pitch in front of the Cobbold Stand. Groundstaff will be working with heaters to thaw this area out before the 2pm second inspection.
Temperatures had overnight dropped to as low as -13° in Ipswich but the covers had been on the pitch for a week with the blowers also in use over the last couple of days.
Jay Emmanuel-Thomas seems especially pleased the game is on as he tweeted, "The match is on ... *DancesAroundFrontRoom*".
Meanwhile, the decision to call off the Peterborough-West Ham game means that if it goes ahead, Town's match will be shown live in various places overseas.
