Town Target Joins Posh - Ipswich Town News
Peterborough United have signed Town target Tyrone Barnett from Crawley for a fee in excess of £1 million. The Blues showed interest in the 26-year-old during the transfer window, although manager Paul Jewell denied making a bid.
Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony says his club fought off plenty of opposition to make the signing: "I am absolutely delighted. We have stolen a march on at least six of our Championship rivals and I can understand why [Crawley manager] Steve Evans is so devastated to lose a key player at such an important stage of the season.'"
Barnett has joined Peterborough on an initial loan until the end of the season with the terms of a subsequent permanent deal agreed between the clubs.
