Murphy: Robins Tough Despite Poor Form - Ipswich Town News

Loan star Daryl Murphy is adamant that Bristol City’s current form will not guarantee three points for Ipswich at Portman Road today.

The Robins, beaten 3-0 by Town at Ashton Gate on the opening day of the season, have taken just one point from their last six games and sit just one place and three points above the Championship drop zone.

But Murphy said: "It will be like any other game in this league — they are all tough and anyone can beat you on any given day.

"We know that after we beat teams at the top end of the league and kind of struggled against teams that are around us and below us.”

Murphy played his part in Town’s recent revival when they strung together four straight wins prior to last week’s 3-0 defeat that marked their first-ever visit to Brighton’s new Amex Stadium.

He added: "I thought we were a bit unlucky down there. I didn’t think it was a 3-0 game. At 1-0 in the second half we were dominating, getting back into it and had a few chances.

"But they caught us on the break and scored. The second goal was a bit of a killer for us but hopefully we can get three points from the game against Bristol City.

"At this stage of the season it’s all about finishing as high in the league as we can and preferably on a high. We don’t want a run of win, lose, win, lose. We want to go on a nice little run, like we were on until losing at Brighton. We need to put that result behind us and go again.”
