Klug Opts Against Town Return - Ipswich Town News

TWTD understands that former Town coach Bryan Klug has opted against a return to Portman Road. The 51-year-old, who is currently the assistant director and head of player development at Tottenham’s Academy, had been sounded out about rejoining Town’s youth set-up.

Klug, who was controversially axed by former boss Roy Keane in January 2010, is understood to have been at the club in recent weeks but has decided not to come back to Town, where he spent 23 years in various coaching roles, having previously come through the youth ranks as a player.

Speaking to TWTD last week, chief executive Simon Clegg refused to confirm or deny the Blues’ interest in Klug: "My expectation is that there will be additional staff required for our Academy next season based upon the structure that we’ve put in place, but it would be wrong for me to speculate on any individual.”
