Town star Andy Drury is convinced the weekend win over Bristol City was better than some people thought.
The midfielder, who rounded off the 3-0 victory with a stunning long-distance strike, believes it may have been under-estimated in some quarters.
Drury, 28, has a message for anyone inclined to think ‘It was only Bristol City’ as a result of the West Country outfit’s miserable current form.
But regardless of the out-of-sorts Robins collecting only one point from their last seven games, Drury said: "If people are saying that they are not showing our performance enough respect.
"I thought we played really well and the boys deserve a lot of credit. Whenever they [City] got the ball we were on them and some of our moves were fantastic.
"We didn’t let them play but a few days before the game, when we watched clips of Bristol City’s previous game, they were creating chances. They didn’t do that against us.”
A modest Drury recalled, and played down, his spectacular 85th minute goal, his second of the season for Town but sixth in all after he netted four times in his 15-game loan spell at Crawley.
He added: "It’s got to be up there with the best I’ve scored — definitely one of the best if not the very best of my career so far.
"There was a bit of space that opened up in front of me and Chops did a good job setting me up. I’ll be honest — I was a bit tired by then. I just decided to hit it as hard as I could and luckily it went in.
"We do a fair bit of shooting practice during the week but I’d be lying if I said they always fly in like that!”
