Jewell at Chesterfield-Huddersfield - Ipswich Town News

Boss Paul Jewell was at tonight’s Chesterfield-Huddersfield game at the Spireites’ B2net Stadium looking for potential new recruits. Several members of the Blues' coaching staff were on scouting missions this evening with Town in action at home to Burnley on Wednesday.

The Blues manager was more likely to be casting his eye over the Terriers’ line-up with right-back Jack Hunt understood to be a player Jewell has been interested in for a while, having been spotted watching the West Yorkshiremen in action on a couple of occasions earlier in the season.

Former Blue Jordan Rhodes — who is probably now out of his old club’s price range - was again on target for Huddersfield as they won the League One clash 2-0.

Also in the Terriers side was another ex-Town man Gary Roberts, while Alan Lee was a 70th minute sub.

Jewell was probably assessing summer targets rather than players he hopes to land before Thursday’s loan deadline.
