Sixto Chuffed With Draw - Ipswich Town News

Sixto Peralta has said he's chuffed to be playing against his Inter mates in the next round of the UFA Cup. The Argentinian is on a season long long from Inter and is elegible to play as we suspected yesterday.

Peralta said: "It is a fantastic conincidence that I am going to play Inter. There are no problems about me playing and I'm looking forward to going back and seeing the friends I made. The captain Javier Zanetti took me under his wing when I first went to Inter and he helped me enormously. They have many good players including Ronaldo who I got to know quite well in the pre-season."

He added that he has settled in well since he has moved to Town: "I am comfortable here, they welcomed me. I was immediately injured when I arrived and I was out for one month. But everything is fine now. To play Inter Milan is really important for this club. Inter are one of most famous team in the world and Ipswich's people are really happy about playing with them."

Suffolk Police have said they have no objections to the currently scheduled date for the Town leg to coincide with the Ipswich by-election on November 22nd. The game may still move as the Inter leg clashes with AC Milan's home leg with Sporting Lisbon. Both play at the San Siro.

George Burley wants the dates to remain the same, partly as Town have done so well in second leg away fixtures so far: "We would like to stay the way it is because we haven't done so badly playing the away leg second. Sometimes it's tougher if you have to play the second leg at home because there is more presure on you."

Burley also said that he expects Inter to try to ge Ronaldo fit for the games, but wouldn't exchange the Brazilian for his star striker: "Marcus is an outstanding striker and I wouldn't not swap him for anyone, not even Ronaldo."

David Sheepshanks welcomed the draw: "To have the thrill of going to one of the great stadiums and play one of the great teams of the world - I think it is something that will capture everyone's imagination."
