Scotland Signs Contract Waiver - Ipswich Town News
Town boss has confirmed that Jason Scotland has agreed to waive the clause in his contract entitling him to an additional year on his current wages. Another two league starts would have triggered the clause in the deal the Trinidadian signed after joining the Blues from Premier League Wigan in August 2010.
Jewell said: "He’s signed a waiver regarding the clause in his contract that gave him an extra year on his contract [at his current wage].
"We want to keep Jason but he’s realised that he won’t be able to get the wages that was on in that last year.
"It’s very commendable from Jason, he’s shown commitment and we want him to be here next year.”
The Blues boss says discussions are ongoing with the 33-year-old regarding a new contract.
