Town Again Linked With West Brom Striker Cox - Ipswich Town News
Town, Cardiff and Derby are reported to have made enquiries to West Brom regarding striker Simon Cox in recent weeks, according to a tabloid report. The 24-year-old Irish international, who was targeted by the Blues soon after Paul Jewell took over as manager, is understood to want to leave the Hawthorns in the summer.
West Brom manager Roy Hodgson is believed to be willing to sell the former Swindon man but chairman Jeremy Peace is said to have put a £3 million price tag on his head, the sort of valuation which will almost certainly put off the Blues and most other Championship clubs.
Another striker is likely to be on Town’s summer wish list with a number of potential signings already mentioned with this season still having two games remaining.
Former loanee Ricardo Fuller was linked by one of yesterday’s tabloids, while Sheffield Wednesday’s 6ft 3in-tall 21-year-old ex-Carlisle United frontman Gary Madine was mentioned as a possible Blues target in one of Sunday’s papers.
Meanwhile, another one of today's tabloids claims the Blues and Leeds have shown interest in Millwall midfielder Josh Wright, 22, who is said to be holding talks about signing a new three-year deal with the Lions next week.
