No Keogh Bid So Far - Ipswich Town News
Town are yet to make a bid for Coventry central defender Richard Keogh, according to reports in the West Midlands. Yesterday, Town were claimed to have lodged an offer for the former Blues Academy schoolboy and one-time Portman Road ballboy.
Despite no offer yet having been made, the 25-year-old may well be on Paul Jewell’s summer wish list, the Town manager having signalled his intention to bring in two central defenders during the close season.
Relegated Coventry insist they want to keep hold of the Harlow-born former Republic of Ireland U21 international as they look to make a quick return to the Championship. However, the cash-strapped Sky Blues concede that they will be under pressure to sell with Leeds and Cardiff also reportedly interested.
Keogh, the Sky Blues’ 2011/12 Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year, is contracted until the summer of 2013.
