Ward to Move By Midweek - Ipswich Town News

Portsmouth administrator Trevor Birch says Joel Ward is yet to make up his mind where he will be playing his football next season but expects a decision by Wednesday. The Blues, Leeds, Blackpool, Burnley, Crystal Palace and Sheffield Wednesday have all targeted Pompey’s versatile 22-year-old defender or midfielder.

Birch said: "We are still waiting for news on that situation — there has been no further movement.

"Obviously I cannot be certain when it will go through but I would have thought it could be around the middle of this week.

"It has taken time. We have all been waiting on this one, hopefully it can go through soon.”

The interested parties are understood to have agreed a fee of around £450,000 with the administrator.

Unconfirmed rumours yesterday claimed Town were winning the race for the one-time Bournemouth loanee.
