Town, Leeds and Bristol City are battling it out for Derby County striker Steve Davies, according to tabloid reports. The Whites are claimed to be ready to launch a £1 million offer for the 24-year-old with the Blues and Robins also said to be interested.
The Town link may due to Blues boss Paul Jewell having signed Davies from Tranmere for a fee which could have risen as high as £725,000 had various clauses been triggered when manager at Pride Park.
Injuries - including a fractured skull last October - have limited Davies to only 55 starts and 39 sub appearances in his four years with Derby, scoring 23 goals, 12 of them in 2011/12.

Rams manager Nigel Clough revealed on Tuesday morning that Davies has been transfer-listed having turned down the offer of a new contract due to "a genuine family reason". Davies has a year remaining on his current deal, Derby having taken up an option on his previous terms.
