The latest not entirely convincing Town link is with Wrexham striker Lee Trundle. The 25-year-old signed for Wrexham from Rhyl in February this year and has scored 11 goals in the 25 matches (plus 2 as sub) he has played in since.
Town are reported to have watched him in action as Wrexham lost 2-0 at Reading on Tuesday. He is also said to have been interesting Everton. Prior to his seven-month spell at Rhyl he was at Southport and Stalybridge Celtic.
Whether Town were watching him or not the Liverpool-born player is extremely unlikely to be the man George Burley has made a faxed offer for. That player is widely believed to be a foreign attacking midfielder currently at a club outside of the UK.
