Everton Bid for Sigurdarson - Ipswich Town News

Everton have launched a bid for Iceland international striker Bjorn Bergmann Sigurdarson that is likely to end Ipswich's interest in the player.

Goodison boss David Moyes has tabled an offer that would be worth a maximum of £3 million to Norwegian club Lillestrom if he is successful in England.

Even though that is less than Lillestrom’s £4 million valuation it is unlikely that Town would be able to match it.

Three other Premier League clubs — Sunderland, Fulham and newly-promoted Reading — are also on the trail of 21-year-old Sigurdarson, who has scored 11 goals in as many games for his club this season.

All were represented, along with Wolves, at Lillestrom’s goalless draw with Aalesunds on Thursday, with new Molineux boss Stale Solbakken making a personal check on a player he has admitted he would love to sign.
