Huddersfield Release Ex-Blues Duo - Ipswich Town News
Huddersfield have released former Blues Tommy Miller and Gary Roberts, but have offered ex-Town striker Alan Lee a new deal. The trio, along with striker Jordan Rhodes, were in the Terriers side which won promotion to the Championship by beating Sheffield United 8-7 on penalties after a 0-0 draw in the League One play-off final at Wembley on Saturday.
Rhodes, meanwhile, continues to be linked with Fulham as well as Everton, Aston Villa and Celtic with his potential price claimed to be anywhere between £5 million and £8 million, £3.5 million having previously been mentioned as his likely cost.
The Blues are set to receive an additional top-up as a result of a promotion clause in the deal which took the Scotland international to West Yorkshire in 2009.
Town’s overall fee for Rhodes will climb above the £1 million mark if the 22-year-old striker moves on for even the lowest fees currently being touted with the Blues' sell-on understood to be somewhere around 10-12 per cent of the profit the Terriers receive.
Another ex-Town man, keeper Nick Colgan, has been named Huddersfield’s academy goalkeeping-coach having been on the bench at Wembley.
Elsewhere, one-time Blues loanee Giovani Dos Santos has been linked with a move to Swansea City with the Mexican set to hold talks about his future with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.
