Town Treasure Trove in Backpass Magazine - Ipswich Town News
Fans of Got, Not Got are bound to get a kick out of the latest issue of Backpass, the retro magazine which concentrates in best GNG style on the absurdities, obsessions and good muddy fun of soccer back in the Golden Age (which is to say whenever you were 10).
This summer’s Euro special issue is just arriving on the shelves of all half-decent newsagents — complete with a brand new regular feature from the GNG blokes, who are taking a club-by-club jaunt through the nation’s footballing memories, with Town the first to feature.
TWTD readers - including Alasdair Ross who runs the Ipswich Town Programme and Memorabilia Club (58 Lonsdale Close, Ipswich IP4 4HD — send SAE A5 envelope for details and sample copy) — have helped to provide an astonishing Town treasure trove.
Where else would you find a Turkish coffee pot gifted by a formerly Yugoslavian opposition club to a club director except for 20p at a jumble sale in rural Suffolk?
