No Loach Enquiry So Far - Ipswich Town News

Town are yet to make an enquiry regarding Watford keeper Scott Loach, according to reports in Hertfordshire. Yesterday, the Blues were reported to be weighing up whether to make a move for Loach, who was an academy schoolboy with Town between 1997 and 2000 before his family moved back to Nottingham where he had been born.

Loach, who last summer said it would be "a dream to play” for his boyhood club one day, fell out of favour at Vicarage Road during 2011/12 with Manchester United’s Tomasz Kuszczak coming in on loan.

Coincidentally, Kuszczak is top of Paul Jewell’s list of potential new keepers but 6ft 4in tall Loach, who is contracted to Watford until June 2013, may well be amongst his alternatives. The former England U21 international will have worked with keeper-coach Malcolm Webster during his time at Playford Road.

In addition to Kuszczak and Loach, the Blues have also been linked with Birmingham's Colin Doyle, although with sources close to the club playing any interest down, and a loan move for Manchester United's Ben Amos, while ex-Aston Villa man Brad Guzan is also believed to be on the list of possible new keepers.
