Town to Learn First Opponents of 2012/13 - Ipswich Town News

Town will learn their first opponents of the 2012/13 season on Thursday at 9.30am when the draw for the first round of the Capital One Cup — the League Cup’s latest guise - is announced. The 2012/13 campaign, which has been pushed back a couple of weeks due to the Olympics, starts with the first round ties which will be played in the week commencing August 13th.

The Blues are in the seeded group of southern clubs in the regionally-based draw. Last year, Town went down 2-1 to League Two Northampton at home at the first hurdle having been victorious on long away trips to Exeter and Shrewsbury in the previous two seasons.

The Championship fixtures for the 2012/13 campaign will be released on Monday at 9am when they will be available on TWTD.
