Jewell: Loach Was Target Last Year - Ipswich Town News
Town boss Paul Jewell has revealed he tried to sign new addition Scott Loach when he first joined the Blues in January 2011. The 24-year-old joined Town on a three-year deal with an option for a fourth season earlier today after the clubs agreed a £150,000 fee.
Jewell said: "I have followed Scott's career for a while now and we're obviously delighted to have him here at Ipswich Town.
"I actually tried to buy him when I first took over here but Watford were looking for a fee in the millions and we didn't take it any further.
"We have been monitoring his situation during the summer and we feel we have signed a very good keeper in what is a good deal for the club. I know he's a boyhood Ipswich fan as well so I'm sure our supporters will take to him."
