Official Website Changes - Ipswich Town News

Town's official website is to be designed, hosted and maintained by Active Web Solutions (AWS) from the begining of 2002. AWS is a local company and they take over from Countyweb who have hosted the site up to now.

Town's New Media Manager, Kevin Allton said "Over the last 12 months we have conducted an extensive research of the opportunities available, including allying ourselves to one of the big broadcasters for our new media business.

"We have concluded however that the optimum solution is for us to operate in close conjunction with a local firm and happily, this has been possible given the many hi-tech companies now located in the area."

We believe the big broadcaster mentioned was NTL, although we are also aware that the club has spoken to Anglia Television as well. Anglia design, host and maintain the Norwich City website and have sought to add other clubs to their portfolio.

Chairman David Sheepshanks pointed to the increasing role of the website, with over 10 per cent of the club's retail business from the site these days. He also paid tribute to Countyweb for their role over the last few years.
