Burley on Le Pen - Ipswich Town News

George Burley says Town expect to have their latest foreign transfer signed and sealed later today, although the Town boss refused to go as far as confirming that the mystery player is indeed Ulrich Le Pen, as now seems all but certain.

Burley said: "I don't want to discuss a player until he has actually signed for us. We are trying to push on with the deal. Our offer has been accepted and now it is a question of agreeing terms with the player. We are currently in negotiations and if everything goes according to plan we would hope to have him eligible to play against Bolton. We have been looking for somebody capable of going straight into the side. He's a player we have been looking at for a while and hopefully we will have everything signed and sealed later today."

It is believed the Frenchman passed a medical yesterday and will sign a three-and-a-half year deal at Portman Road. His price is likely to be around the £2 million mark.
