Hutchings: No Comment on Wilson - Ipswich Town News
Assistant manager Chris Hutchings wouldn’t comment on reports that Town are hoping to sign Celtic central defender Kelvin Wilson after the Blues’ 3-1 victory over West Ham at Portman Road.
Asked about Wilson, Hutchings said: "We’re interested in a lot of players. It’s unfair if we’re mentioned in relation to players to say that we are or we’re not because they’re at other clubs at the moment in time so you don’t want to settle them.
"You’ll just have to watch this space and if it happens, it happens. But we are trying to get other players in.”
He says nothing is imminent: "Not at this moment in time. We’re always looking, we want to strengthen, we’re doing our best to do that.
"The players know that as well so and that should be a tonic to them to try and kick on — if they start in the side, then they need to keep the shirt.”
