TWTD understands that in addition to the ongoing discussions with Jimmy Bullard, the Blues are in talks with Canadian midfielder Jaime Peters regarding the settlement of his contract. Speaking this morning, chief executive Simon Clegg refused to confirm nor deny that Bullard was set to leave the Blues but the 33-year-old, like Peters, is not at this morning’s open training day.
In an interview with Radio Suffolk, Clegg wouldn’t comment on Bullard’s position: "There is a lot of rumour and I’m not going to fuel that.
"The situation is that we’re having discussions with a number of players at the moment and as soon as I’ve got something concrete to say I’ll say it.
"I think it’s unhelpful from everyone’s perspective for me to fuel any rumour or comment about speculation until something concrete has happened one way or another on a number of players.”
Striker Nathan Ellington is at this morning's session with the former Wigan man believed to be keen to stay at fight for his place at Portman Road rather than move on.
Missing this morning's session through minor injuries were Andy Drury (calf) and Chieck Kourouma, while Elliott Hewitt revealed on Twitter that he was suffering with a bug: "Glad the weather is nice for the open day. Gutted I'm sick and had to go to the doctors, see you all in the season though."
