Target Davies Set for Action - Ipswich Town News
Town target Steve Davies says he expects to play his first game of pre-season for Derby at Chesterfield on Saturday. The Rams have rested the 24-year-old frontman, who wants a move to a club in the south, so he doesn’t pick up an injury which would prevent a deal from going through.
Davies said: "Looking forward to actually being involved in a game tomorrow. Hope to play at some point.”
The Blues and Derby have so far been unable to agree a fee for the former Tranmere man who Paul Jewell signed during his spell at Pride Park. The Rams are believed to want £1 million for the Liverpudlian, a figure Jewell says the Blues can’t afford.
Davies's inclusion in the friendly suggests a move to the Blues - or elsewhere - is not currently close to being done.
