Edu Reported to Have Headed South for Talks - Ipswich Town News
Rangers midfielder Maurice Edu is south of the border holding talks with the Blues, according to a report from Scotland this afternoon. The US international midfielder is set to leave the Glasgow giants, who drew their first Scottish Third Division game 2-2 at Peterhead earlier today, with news of Town's interest emerging yesterday.
Having told manager Ally McCoist that he won’t be transferring his contract to the Rangers newco, Edu wasn’t involved at Balmoor with claims that he has travelled south to speak to the Blues.
While talks may well have taken place at some point today, manager Paul Jewell was spotted at Watford's Capital One Cup tie against Wycombe, presumably keeping an eye on the Hornets ahead of the Blues’ first away game of the new season at Vicarage Road a week on Tuesday. The Championship side won 1-0 after extra-time.
