Edu Plays Down Town Speculation - Ipswich Town News
Rangers midfielder Maurice Edu has played down speculation that he’s close to completing a move to the Blues. The 26-year-old US international is currently in Mexico ahead of a friendly against the Central Americans on Wednesday.
Edu, who appears to suggest that reports he was in talks with the Blues at the weekend were incorrect, isn’t ruling out a move to Town but told Goal.com that he’s not up to speed regarding discussions between the teams: "I know about the club, but I’m not too aware of anything that’s going on [with negotiations] to be honest. Once I came over here was when all that talk started.
"Every time that I come into a national team camp I just try to focus on that. I let my agent handle all that stuff, that’s what he’s there for, and once I head back to Europe then I’ll turn my attention back to there and try to get that sorted.”
With his Rangers exit certain, the former Toronto FC man says he wouldn’t be averse to joining another British club: "I’m pretty open to be honest. I’ve been in the UK for a while now, so I’m pretty used to that game. But I’m pretty open to most situations.”
