Duo Could Win Caps - Ipswich Town News
Josh Carson and Damien Delaney could add to their full international caps this evening. Carson’s Northern Ireland face Finland in a friendly at Belfast’s Windsor Park (Sky Sports Three, 7.30pm).
Delaney and the Republic of Ireland are in action against Serbia in Belgrade, also in a friendly. The 31-year-old has not been named in Giovanni Trapattoni’s starting line-up, which does include former Town skipper Jon Walters and ex-Blues loanee Darren O’Dea, who recently joined Paul Mariner’s Toronto FC.
Midfielder Carson has previously won three senior caps, while centre-half Delaney has five.
Meanwhile, Blues striker Ronan Murray was an unused sub as the Republic of Ireland U21s lost 1-0 to Turkey in a European Championships qualifier in Sligo last night.
