Hutchings: Davies Not Our Only Interest - Ipswich Town News

Assistant boss Chris Hutchings says the Blues have targets other than Derby striker Steve Davies, who has completed his move to Bristol City, the clubs having agreed a fee now reported to be £750,000 over the weekend.

Hutchings, who took on today's pre-match press duties, said: "We’re after quite a few players and we’ve be linked with several, as you all know. We’d just like to keep our business in-house.

"If he signs for Bristol City we wish him all the very best. We had him at Derby, we knew what he was like, but we have other interests.

"A lot goes into [a deal] - bids being accepted, players wanting to come to you first and foremost, moving the family down, schooling for kids etc. There’s a lot that goes into it and as soon as we have any real information to tell you we will.”

Meanwhile, winger Plaisir Bahamboula, who spent part of pre-season on trial with the Blues, has joined French club Viry Chatillon.
