Jewell: Town in Talks With Clubs - Ipswich Town News
Boss Paul Jewell says the Blues are in talks with clubs about both loan and permanent signings as he looks to add to his squad before the transfer window closes on Friday.
While Reading striker Simon Church was again reported to be close to a loan move to Town over the weekend, Jewell wouldn’t be drawn on specific names: "We are in talks with clubs about players.
"I’m not going to comment on individual players, but we are in talks with clubs about bringing players in, both on loan and to buy.”
He said even before Saturday’s game he was aware of his squad’s shortcomings: "If we’d have won I would have said we need players.
"Our squad is threadbare. We’ve got Guirane N’Daw in, he’ll be a good asset for us in the middle of the park with a bit of strength and a bit of height.
"We need at least two other players to go into our squad, if not three. Saturday’s defeat, as painful as it is, doesn’t change my thoughts on what we need to improve the team.”
