Elokobi Linked - Ipswich Town News

Town are reported to be interested in a loan move for Wolves left-back George Elokobi. The 5ft 9in tall Cameroonian was previously with Colchester United.

Elokobi, who is just back from a hamstring injury, is said to be down the pecking order at Molineux with manager Stale Solbakken keen to sell him. The Blues are claimed to prefer to take him on loan.

The 26-year-old, who suffered a serious knee injury while playing for Wolves at Portman Road in August 2008, spent time on loan at Nottingham Forest last season.

Town look short on cover for left-back Aaron Cresswell but a move for Elokobi would be a surprise with the 22-year-old very much the Blues' first choice.

Aston Villa made an enquiry regarding Cresswell last month but have not firmed up their interest and signed Middlesbrough’s Joe Bennett earlier in the week.
