Boyd Rumoured to Be Back in Talks - Ipswich Town News
Blues target George Boyd is rumoured to be back in talks with Town regarding his move from Peterborough, according to a report from the Cambridgeshire media.
Last night it looked like the deal for the 26-year-old was dead with Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony saying that the player "feels it’s not the right move for him” after he failed to agree personal terms having been at Portman Road on Wednesday.
However, we understand that the former Stevenage man was keen on the switch in principle but with the significant distance between the wages on offer at Town and the figure he was anticipating the sticking point.
Last night, Boyd’s Posh team-mate Paul Taylor joined the Blues on a three-year deal for a fee now believed to be an initial £1.5 million rising to £2.5 million after the usual milestone clauses.
