Edwards a Big Doubt for Huddersfield Clash But New Boys in Squad - Ipswich Town News

Skipper Carlos Edwards is a big doubt ahead of Saturday’s home game against Huddersfield due to the groin injury he suffered at Carlisle on Tuesday. Blues boss Paul Jewell has confirmed that all three new signings will be in the squad.

Josh Carson and Luke Hyam are over hamstring problems but Jewell says Edwards is still a serious concern: "Josh is OK. Luke’s trained with the physio all week and hopefully will be OK for tomorrow. But Carlos is a major doubt.”

Jack Ainsley looks set to deputise for the Trinidadian, while summer signing Elliott Hewitt is back in first team training but is a few weeks off first team football after his hip impingement operations.

The Town manager confirmed that his new signings would be involved against the Terriers: "Paul Taylor played on Tuesday night against Reading, so he’s fit. Daryl Murphy’s trained this morning and looks in good condition and was on the bench for Celtic the other night.

"Guirane N’Daw probably needs a bit of work. He’s done a pre-season at St Etienne but not to the levels that we’re at, so he needs a little bit of work. He’ll be in the squad, but whether he starts or not is another thing.”
