Update - Kourouma Signs Contract But is Still Waiting For Completion - Ipswich Town News

French midfielder Cheick Kourouma has confirmed that he has finally cut through the swathes of red tape and has signed his one-year contract with the Blues. However, with less than an hour to go before the deadline he was still waiting for the completion of paperwork relating to his move.

The 20-year-old tweeted (but has subsequently removed) in French, "J'ai signé", hopefully ending a frustrating two months in which he has been unable to complete his move to the Blues. Just less than an hour before the deadline he added that he is "still waiting".

The club were in the process of completing the remaining paperwork on the deal and confirmation one way or another may come tomorrow.

Town needed to secure agreements from all the clubs he has played for since the age of 12 that they wouldn't chase compensation technically due to them under FIFA rules. Failing to do so could potentially have cost the Blues €100,000.
