Blues and Owls Linked With Doncaster Midfielder - Ipswich Town News
Town and Sheffield Wednesday are reported to be interested in Doncaster Rovers left midfielder Martin Woods. The 26-year-old Scot, who has a year remaining on his contract, is believed to be available for loan.
Airdrie-born Woods started his career with then-Premier League Leeds, spending a month on loan with Hartlepool in 2004/05.
After the Whites, for whom he had made only one senior sub appearance, dropped out of the top flight he moved on to Sunderland, making a handful of appearances before joining Rotherham on a free in the summer of 2007.
A year later Woods, who has been capped by Scotland at U17, U19 and U21 levels, moved on to Doncaster and, aside from a month on loan at Yeovil in 2008, he has been there ever since.
While Blues manager Paul Jewell has said he is looking to strengthen in other areas as well as centre-half, a left midfielder doesn’t look to be a priority now that Daryl Murphy has returned on loan from Celtic for a third spell at Portman Road.
Football League clubs are able to take players on 93-day loans from the weekend.
