Blues target Bilel Mohsni has confirmed that he is to hold talks with Town regarding a move to Portman Road. On Monday, TWTD revealed that the 25-year-old would be spending the week training with Town.
According to a report this morning, the Southend defender was set to speak to the Blues about the switch today, a deal which would be an initial loan with a view to a permanent contract in January.
"I am waiting to find out what will happen and I'm due to hold talks with Ipswich soon, so I'm hoping something can be agreed.
"Hopefully it can be done quite quickly too because I want to be playing again,” Mohsni told the Southend Echo.
In addition to the versatile Shrimpers centre-half, striker or winger agreeing personal terms, the clubs would also have to negotiate a fee, something which may not be a formality.
Last month, Southend turned down an offer of £150,000 from West Ham, with whom Mohsni spent most of pre-season on trial.
The Parisian has a year left on his contract at Roots Hall but has been told he won't play for the League Two side again having failed to show for the start of pre-season training.
From Saturday, Football League clubs have been able to sign players on 93-day loans.
