Town Closing in On Mohsni - Ipswich Town News
TWTD understands that Town are close to agreeing terms with Southend for the loan signing of defender Bilel Mohsni, who we revealed had returned to Playford Road on trial yesterday.
The versatile French-Tunisian subsequently said he would be signing a three-month loan with the Blues today, but the clubs were still to agree terms regarding the switch, which is expected to be formalised into a permanent move in January when the transfer window reopens. Reports elsewhere claiming a deal has been completed are a touch premature.
If the 25-year-old puts pen to paper today, he is likely to be one of three new signings in the squad which takes on Cardiff City at Portman Road tomorrow, along with Richie Wellens, who signed on a month’s loan from Leicester yesterday, and DJ Campbell, who has now penned a three-month loan deal.

Blackburn Rovers 1-0 Ipswich Town - Match AbandonedTown look set to face a return trip to Blackburn Rovers later in the season after this afternoon’s game was abandoned after 80 minutes due to a waterlogged pitch with the home side 1-0 up and with the Blues down to 10 men. Jacob Greaves was shown a straight red card four minutes after the break for hauling down Yuki Ohashi, then Rovers skipper Todd Cantwell netted a penalty on 59, but the heavy rain had made the game increasingly farcical the longer it progressed and in the 80th minute referee Stephen Martin took the players off and then 25 minutes later abandoned it entirely.
