Cresswell and Murray Pipped at Golf Day - Ipswich Town News

A team featuring Aaron Cresswell and Ronan Murray were pipped into second place by just one point at today’s Town Golf Day at Ufford Park, behind victors Burdens. Cresswell and Murray's ITFC Boys finished on 87 points with Stuart King Tools in third on 86.

Despite having been odds-on for a last place finish, The Hackers - consisting of TWTD’s Phil Ham, Jason Dozzell, ex-Ipswich Witches sponsorship coordinator Horry Money and Tom Huntley - finished in a creditable 17th position out of the 21 teams, despite an horrific buggy crash which was largely put down to Dozzell’s lack of recent experience behind the wheel.

Paul Goddard won the players/coaches competition, just pipping Chris Hutchings and Micky Stockwell into second and third.

Also showing their prowess off the tee were Luke Chambers and Daryl Murphy from the current squad, coaches Mark Kennedy, Sean McCarthy, Russell Osman and Bryan Klug, and former Blues John Wark, Mick Mills, Allan Hunter, Charlie Woods, Bryan Hamilton and Simon Milton. Manager Paul Jewell missed out as he was away at a family wedding.

Team and individual places are available for Town’s spring golf day on Wednesday 20th March at a venue yet to be confirmed. Contact the club’s sales team on 01473 400594, sales@itfc.co.uk for details.
