Curbs Would Talk to Town - Ipswich Town News

Former Charlton and West Ham boss Alan Curbishley has said he would talk to the Blues if they wanted to speak to him. The 54-year-old is understood to be someone Town owner Marcus Evans and chief executive Simon Clegg see as a potential boss at Portman Road.

Curbishley told Sky Sports News: "I am available, obviously, and if they want to talk to me, I would talk to them.”

He says he’s surprised to see that his name is already up there amongst the favourites: "I am amazed when you look at the betting and I am up there with the frontrunners.

"Ipswich have been inundated with people who would like that job and I think they have a very important decision to make.

"The last two or three years have been tough as they have been in decline a little bit,” he added. "They have to take their time, sift through the people that are available and come up with the right answer.”

Curbishley’s long-time assistant Mervyn Day, who is currently working as a scout for Fulham, was at Tuesday’s home game against Derby and has also been at Portman Road for previous games this season.

Meanwhile, Town are remaining tight-lipped regarding developments on their search for a new boss with Clegg having said earlier in the week that he is hopeful a new man could be in place before next Saturday's game at Birmingham.
