Cuper on Town - Ipswich Town News

Inter manager Hector Cuper has singled out a number of Town players for praise ahead of tonight's crunch UEFA Cup tie at Portman Road. Cuper watched the Blues take on Bolton on Sunday and sees Town's loanee from Inter, Sixto Peralta as a key man.

Cuper said: "Peralta is playing well. We already know what sort of player he is from his time with us. He has the responsibility of organising things in the Ipswich midfield and is their key player."

He refused to rule out whether he might be interested in taking the Argentinian back to Italy at the end of the season. The Blues have first option on him should Inter decide to let him go and the player himself has said he is keen to stay at Portman Road.

The Inter manager was also impressed with several other players: "The number five (Hermann Hreidarsson) has good technical ability and Couñago I know from Celta Vigo and he is a good number nine. I was also impressed with Venus, who has a good first touch and passes very well from the back."

Inter's midfielder Javier Zanetti feels it will not be an easy game for his side: "It will be a
tough match, maybe harder than the 0-0 draw we had against Roma recently. They are very good at home and even if their Premiership form is not great, the UEFA Cup could be a welcome change for them."

Town's Italian keeper Matteo Sereni is determined to do well this evening: "It's important to me to perform well against Inter, I want to have a wonderful match. I will feel a bit of emotion before the game but that's because I'm so hungry to beat them."
