Smith Skippers All Whites to Draw - Ipswich Town News
Blues defender Tommy Smith skippered New Zealand to a 1-1 friendly draw with China in Shanghai earlier this afternoon.
Zhao Peng put the home side ahead before Chris Wood, who is currently on loan at Millwall from West Brom, equalised for the All Whites just before half-time.
The Town centre-half thought his side should have claimed a victory: "I thought they were more of a counter-attacking team and we had more of the ball.
"We were passing it around well and created a few chances and we feel like we should have won the game."
Smith, who was back in the Town side for Saturday’s victory over Burnley, was winning his 21st full cap.
