McCarthy and Clegg at PLC AGM - Ipswich Town News

Manager Mick McCarthy and chief executive Simon Clegg will answer shareholders’ questions at this year’s PLC AGM, which will take place on December 11th in the Sir Bobby Robson Suite in the Sir Alf Ramsey Stand (7.30pm). The meeting is open only to shareholders or their proxies.

The PLC owns 12.5% of Town and consists of the club's shareholding prior to Marcus Evans's takeover five years ago.

In a letter to shareholders, new PLC chairman and former club director Roger Finbow paid tribute to his predecessor David Sheepshanks, who stood down as chairman and as a director of the PLC in August, ending his formal ties with the Blues: "David provided inspirational leadership in both good and less good times; he brought to the club the benefits of his considerable football wisdom; he knew when to offer guidance to the manager whilst avoiding being an interfering chairman; and he was always accessible and approachable by supporters.

"Our loss is [the National Football Centre at] St George’s Park’s gain, but we should all feel proud that for the third time this club has been able to provide someone to take up a position of leadership within the English FA.”

The meeting will vote on the re-elections of John Kerr and Simon Clegg and the election of Supporters Club chair Elizabeth Edwards as directors of the PLC.

We understand that details of the club accounts for the year ending June 2012 are expected to be announced in time for discussion at the meeting.
