Town boss Mick McCarthy and his assistant Terry Connor were at the Weston Homes Community Stadium this evening to watch Colchester United take on Coventry City.
The game ended 3-1 to the Sky Blues with ex-Town centre-half Tom Eastman netting for the U’s after midfielder Franck Moussa and centre-back William Edjenguele had put the visitors in front.
Coventry’s on-loan Nottingham Forest striker David McGoldrick added the third late on, his 12th goal of the season.
Eastman, 21, has done well with the U's since turning down a six-month contract with the Blues in the summer of 2011 to move to his local club. Eastman's central defensive partner, 26-year-old Magnus Okuonghae, was linked with the Blues in January, although the reports were dismissed by the U's.
Midfielder Anthony Wordsworth, 23, has previously been mentioned in connection with Championship clubs, while on-loan Arsenal man Craig Eastmond, a 21-year-old midfielder, and those two may have been the reason for the Blues duo's trip over the border.
