DJ Campbell has confirmed he will not extend his three-month Ipswich loan deal when it ends in January.
But the 31-year-old QPR striker, who has netted four times in eight Town appearances, is open to the idea of staying at Portman Road on a permanent basis.
"It will be interesting to see what happens in January but I will only do what suits me and my family, whether it’s signing full-time for Ipswich, going back to QPR or moving somewhere else on a permanent deal.”
Campbell has enjoyed his time at Town: "My decision to come here was spot-on. I’ve loved it and I couldn’t speak any more highly of this club.
"I’ll look at things when January comes round. I’ll consider my options and decide what’s best for me and my family. I don’t want to extend my loan and I won’t go on loan to any other club.
"The fans have been good to me, there’s a good bunch of players here and both the gaffer and Terry Connor have been great since they’ve come here.
"It’s a great club and staying permanently is definitely something I would look at but I haven’t made up my mind about what I want to do beyond January.”
Meanwhile, the final day on which Football League clubs are able to sign players on loan passed without any moves in or out of Portman Road.
Elsewhere, ex-Blue Damien Delaney has signed a new contract with Crystal Palace until the summer of 2014. The Irishman joined the Eagles shortly after leaving the Blues in August, agreeing an initial deal until January.
Academy schoolboy Cemal Ramadan and the Republic of Ireland U16s drew 1-1 in the second of two friendlies against Estonia in Dublin earlier today. Ramadan netted both goals in a 2-0 victory in the first on Tuesday.
