Hyam: An Incredible Feeling - Ipswich Town News
Midfielder Luke Hyam says scoring his first senior goal for his hometown club was an incredible feeling. The 21-year-old followed up after Nottingham Forest keeper Lee Camp had saved DJ Campbell’s second half penalty to notch Town's second goal in their 3-1 victory.
Former Northgate High School pupil Hyam told the club site: "It was an incredible feeling for me and, as you can see from my celebrations, I lost my head a little bit!
"It was a great feeling personally and also really enjoyable to celebrate with the lads at getting the three points, which is the most important thing.
"All the boys worked extremely hard and I think our performance deserved the win tonight.
"It was nice to get a start and hopefully I have shown the manager what I can do. I want to play games and it’s important to take my chance when I get it.”
