The continuing confusion over the players' strike now sees the promised noon PFA press conference cancelled. A further announcement is expected later this afternoon.

A spokesperson for the Premier League said talks were continuing in Manchester: "The Premier League is unaware that a settlement has been reached. Talks are ongoing."
