7 Million Up - Ipswich Town News

£6 million plus another cool mill once he gets his first cap. That's the cost of buying Kieron Dyers these days. Most Town fans seem to agree that we have got quite a good price for the midfielder, contrary to expectations and our experiences in the past. The deal isn't confirmed as yet with Dyer's agent still discussing details and the player yet to pass a medical. If all does go through he'll be off to join his new team-mates in Holland asap.

Despite the loss of probably our best player the majority of Town fans are glad that someone has finally come in for Kieron. This gives George Burley a few weeks in which to spend however much cash David Sheepshanks chooses to give him (£3 million?). It is certain that George has his eyes on left wingers, right wingers, full backs and strikers, all areas in which the squad needs strengthening. Martin Smith, the left winger from Sunderland so highly rated by his erstwhile fans, may be the first of several Bosman trialists coming to Portman Road in the next few weeks. All in all it may be a busy month for George Burley and his staff.
