Other Town News - Ipswich Town News

With Christmas and the new millennium celebrations over NewsNet has a bit of catching up to do on events at Portman Road. Probably the biggest new is that Titus Bramble has gone on loan to Colchester United and made his debut in yesterday's 1-1 draw away at Blackpool. The player has gone to Layer Road with a view to him gaining some League experience as Wayne Brown did a couple of years back. Since his injuries Titus has had few opportunities to play reserve football and a few games on loan may bring him into the Town picture again.

George Burley has had another offer for a player rejected. George is still looking to spend wads of the money received for Kieron Dyer has been linked with several players most notably Luton's Matthew Spring, Colchester's Lomano Tresor Lua-Lua and Orient's Matt Lockwood. Burley says that another club put in an offer which was double his estimation of the players value and that he will continue to look for additions to the squad as the season continues. Another rumour surfacing has been Town interest in Walsall's £900,000 rated defender Ian Roper. Quite why Town would want another central defender is questionable especially with Titus Bramble on the way back so I think we can assume this is merely paper talk.

As for injuries Matt Holland has suffered from both flu and an ankle injury over the Christmas period but like the trooper he is has still managed to turn out for Town. Jim Magilton's groin has been playing him up but both should be fully fit for the Swindon game on the fifteenth.
