Orr's Future Unclear - Ipswich Town News

Bradley Orr has no idea what the future holds for him beyond the end of January when his three-month loan from Blackburn is due to expire.

All that concerns him for the time being is that he carries on enjoying his time with Town, which has coincided with a major transformation under new boss Mick McCarthy.

Orr said: "I’m really enjoying it here. Everyone has welcomed me with open arms. The games have been good and the training spot-on. Everything has been fine and it’s been a good period for me.”

Asked if he is likely to extend his loan, or perhaps even sign a permanent deal, he replied: "I haven’t even thought about it or spoken about it. I suppose that conversation will probably come a week before the loan is due to finish. I just take each day as it comes and I’ll see what happens nearer the time.

"I haven’t got a clue what people are thinking. Blackburn will probably be thinking ‘stay away’ but I don’t know as far as Ipswich are concerned. I’ll just see.

"It’s all about the here and now, really, and we’ve still got about six weeks left of the loan. In a month’s time we’ll probably be thinking more about what will be.”

Orr was allowed to leave Ewood Park after Henning Berg replaced the axed Steve Kean as manager, a move that has seen Rovers plunge down the Championship table.

He added: "I haven’t heard from anybody. Out of sight, out of mind I suppose. I have spoken to a couple of the players who are pals of mine — I was just wishing them well — but as far as anything official is concerned there has been no contact. That’s just the way it is.

"I’m just here to try my best and help the club out. As I’ve said all along, if that’s good enough then great. If it’s not, it’s not. There’s not much more that you can do on a football pitch but try your best.

"We’re all going to make mistakes at whatever level we play. You don’t mean to make them but as far as effort and commitment are concerned I’ll always try to give my best and if that helps the squad out then great.”
